Assisi: The town of Assisi is located on a spur of Mount Subasio and is known throughout the world both for its historical and artistic beauty and as a place of worship (they are kept in this city the remains of St. Francis).
The core of the city is completely surrounded by walls and the door of St. Francis is the main entrance to the city. Very nice to visit is the Basilica di San Franesco which was built in 1228 and consists of two churches: the church top and bottom. In the crypt below the church is preserved the body of San Fracesco. In this church are resent wonderful frescoes by Cimabue, Giotto and Pietro Lorenzetti. Close to Assisi can be found in prisons that originally was a chapel surrounded by caves where St. Francis used to pray.
Gubbio: Gubbio is a town famous Umbrian that lying rock of Mount Ingino and surrounded by beautiful hills. It 'a very small town characteristics thanks to its medieval streets and its spread over several levels connected by steps that create a very suggestive. Gubbio has ancient origins that go back to the beginnings of civilization umbra (as witnessed in the precious "Eugubine Tables" preserved in the Palazzo dei Consoli). It has the typical structure of the medieval town and has churches and monuments that are works of thirteenth-century and fourteenth century. Sure to visit the complex formed by the Palazzo dei Consoli, the Wall Piazza and the Palazzo Pretorio. Gubbio also has a beautiful Gothic cathedral, the Church of St. Augustine, the church of San Francesco.
Spoleto: Spoleto is a charming town in Umbria that in medieval times was a very important role: it was indeed the capital of Longobardo. The upper part of the city is an ancient Roman theater of the first century BC, the Arch of Druchii of 23 dc, Sant'Ansano church and a temple to the Roman period. From then visit the beautiful Romanesque cathedral of the XII century in which there are works by Filippo Lippi and of Pinturicchio.

Cuisine and Wines:
The cuisine of Umbria is known for the use of simple and wholesome foods. Among the typical products include sausages, dairy products, legumes and truffles (both white and black). Among the first toviamo the "umbricelli, typical hand-made spaghetti served with tomato sauce, or goose meat sauce based chicken innards. Between and soup is very famous as "Scafati" made with fava beans, garlic, chard and tomatoes. Another typical Umbrian cuisine is the "torta al testo" (made of flour, salt, pepper and oil).
Among the latter a specialty of the Umbrian cuisine is undoubtedly the "guinea fowl to the greedy" in this recipe is cooked guinea fowl on a spit and wrapped in slices of ham. Then there are the sought-based recipes fish of Lake Trasimeno: find the "carp in porchetta Queen", the "tegamaccio eel", the capitoni the spit and latterini fried. Among the desserts are the "Pinocchio", Christmas sweets based zuccero and pine nuts, the "hanks" made with almonds and the famous "Torcolo San Costanzo", a particle bun with raisins, pine nuts and candied fruit.
