Trentino
Trentino Alto Adige is the northernmost region of Italy and has a completely mountainous territory marked by beautiful valleys. Trentino Alto Adige is bordered to the north by Austria, east and south with the Veneto to the west with Lombardy and Switzerland. Its provinces are Trento (town of the region) and Bolzano. This region has a special status and has two names because it consists of two distinct regions: the Trentino (south) and the Alto Adige (north).
These two areas are characterized by two different languages: in Trentino is spoken in the Italian Alps while there is predominance of German. In this region there are the Dolomites, a mountain that offers peaks, glaciers and breathtaking valleys. There are also many winter tourist resorts such as Madonna di Campiglio, Canazei and Dobbiaco. In ancient times this area was inhabited by Reni (in the third century BC) and then subsequently conquered by the Romans and the Lombards who founded the duchy of Trent that it belonged to Austria until 1918
